Approaches Of Therapy In Hemothorax

Treatment of traumatic or nontraumatic hemothorax is the prompt drainage of the blood with in the pleura after physical findings and radiological work-up. Different approaches could be handled with regard either amount or course of discharge. These approaches are: Tube toracostomy, surgical exploration and medical therapy.
Needle aspiration is not an appropriate way in the definitive treatment of hemothorax. Either traumatic or nontraumatic hemothorax, needle aspiration is advocated only in the diagnostic evaluation.Keywords: Hemothorax, therapyTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2007, 3(47):72-75
